How to Find Your IP Address on iPhone
Your iPhone has two IP addresses that matter: a public IP address that websites and apps see, and a private IP address your Wi-Fi router assigns on your home network.
The fastest way to see your public IP is to load our homepage, it shows it instantly with no signup. For the private Wi-Fi IP, follow the steps below.
Find your private Wi-Fi IP on iPhone
Open Settings, then tap Wi-Fi. Tap the small (i) info icon next to your connected network. Your IP address is listed under IPV4 ADDRESS, usually something like 192.168.1.5.
This address only works inside your home network. Nobody on the internet can reach you at it.
Find your public IP on iPhone
Open Safari and visit this site. The big address at the top of the page is your public IP, the one the rest of the internet sees.
If you are on Wi-Fi, this is your router's public address, shared by every device in your home. On cellular data, it is an address assigned by your carrier, and it changes often.
Frequently asked questions
Does my iPhone IP address change?
Yes. Your public IP changes whenever your carrier or internet provider reassigns it, which can be daily or every time you reconnect. Your private Wi-Fi IP can also change when you rejoin a network.
Can someone find my location from my iPhone IP?
Only approximately. An IP address reveals your city or region, not your street address. Anyone claiming an exact address from an IP alone is guessing.
Is it safe to share my IP address?
Sharing it publicly is not recommended, since it can be used for targeted network attacks. There is rarely a good reason to post it anywhere.
Why does my iPhone show a different IP on Wi-Fi vs cellular?
On Wi-Fi you share your home router's public IP with every device on the network. On cellular, your carrier assigns your phone its own public-facing address.
